What is the major difference between a dropshipping and an eCommerce store?

Primarily, an eCommerce store is your own store with your own products. You might be a manufacturer or a distributor. You own and keep all the inventory at hand. When you receive an order, you are packaging it and shipping it to the destination. Whereas, in a dropshipping store, you own the online store website, you choose which products to add to your website to sell but you don’t own or keep any inventory at hand. At least you don’t have to. When you receive an order, you pass the order to the manufacturer on your website. Manufacturer does all the packaging and shipping of the product, dropping it directly to your buyer’s address.

Hence the name dropshipping!

As far as transaction is concerned, your website visitor pays you and you pay the seller on your website. You decide and keep profit margins for yourself!
